Process
My first task is to help you figure out what you want from your website. It is a WIDE world out there, so helping you learn what you want is our first step. Once we have accomplished that, then I will take all of your desires and create the vehicle to fulfill them. You do not have to know any techie terms. That is what I do and you do not have to worry yourself with how that is accomplished. Leave that to me.
So to help you determine what you want, I have developed this list of questions. You can copy these and paste into an email to EMAIL back to me.
- What is the name of your business?
- What do you want the website to do for you? ( Market your services/ products, provide info (educational), gather contact info of potential clients )
- What is your definition of success? (new clients, email addresses...)
- What is your primary service/product?
- Do you have any competitors? (What is their website address?)
- If so, what do you offer that the competition does not?
- Who is your target audience? (Age, knowledge level about your services/products, internet experience, health level, activity level)
- What do your prospects want & need from your site? (Directions, Info, etc)
- What will your existing customers want & need from your site? (Product updates, Event notification, etc)
- Do you have any company colors or any particular colors you like? Any print marketing? (business cards, brochures...)
- What do you like in other websites?
- What don't you like in other websites?
- What are 5 descriptive words you want people to think of when they describe your site?
- Do you have a deadline for the launching of your site?
After we gather this info, if you do not have a domain name (or "url" or the www.... thingey) yet, we will discuss various options, check availability of the name and get one registered for you.
Here are some tips about url’s:
• Generally, the shorter the better but more importantly is something that is memorable - abbreviations are shorter, but not always memorable.
• The name shouldn't be easy to confuse with other website addresses.
• It should be easy to spell.
• And it should sound solid to your target audience and indicate what your site is all about.
Then I will create a rough draft, and supply you with a possible layout, look and "feel" for your site with a variation of colors. Then based on your feedback, we'll fine tune it until you like it, then I will begin building the framework with pages. Once all the pages are set up, we'll start integrating your content into the pages with relevant text and images.
Contact me today to begin this very exciting process. I look forward to the assisting the creation of your presence on the WWW.
